Technologically challenged, part 2 (aka I'm STILL confused)? - upconverting dvd vcr combo be warned!
Okay, so I got my new 32 "flat screen LCD HDTV today and took my new Upconversion DVD Recorder / VCR. I received even an HD cable box last week. I have two HDMI cables. A friend of mine about this weeekend come for me to connect everything, but I thought I'd be a shot. Bad idea. cable box has an HDMI connection, DVD / VCR to the two high-definition television has had two. How can both the DVD and high-definition television to the cable box with only one HDMI input for cable box? From The DVD recorder says something about how the IR Blaster (eh?) make in relation to the control box (cable?) and You can find the IR sensor out by shaking the remote back and forth in front of the box cables. I do not understand everything and the instructions in the manual is not written well. "m paying the verge of a nervous breakdown or a professional, this Sears , where I bought the TV and not the recorder. Any help would be very grateful!

Is that correct?
There is an HDMI port on the cable box.
There is an HDMI input to the burner
There is an HDMI connector to the DVD recorder output
There are two HDMI inputs on the TV --
There HDMI outputs on the TV screen.
If so,
Step 1;
Connect the cable box HDMI input HDMI TV.
Step 2: Connect the HDMI cable box to another HDMI TV.
You are not entitled to their contributions to the DVD recorder with digital TV, use the cable box, but since the cable box has an HDMI output has only two options:
Get an HDMI switch you can change the cable box between the TV and VCR, or
Employment component or S-video record from the cable box. I am sure that both your cable box and the drive at least one (probably S-Video does). If the component (red / blue / green, multiple audio red / white) is to contribute to the recorder is available and how an exit from the cable box, use it. When not in useS-Video round (small 4-pin connector audio, red / white). For DVD or video recorder records all of these works.
With respect to the infrared device, it seems that the author is able to control the cable box to act as a remote control. The infrared IR Blaster must be plugged into the recorder must be a takeover or a control with the name. The other end goes to the front of the remote sensor of the cable box so that you can select signals from the recorder. He was asked to locate the sensor. Sometimes you can see a round, red plastic button on the front of the box, but sometimes it is hidden. Hold the cable remote to the closure and forwards on the front of the box, you can find on the sensor: when the image is more sensitive to distance. The IR Blaster must be installed before the sensor.
Start with the exact model numbers you have. I do not know, unless the entry or exit, they are clearer. It is also necessary to find out more details about what to do with what you have, you also add a member to the other devices you want to integrate. Also add all the devices you in the near future.
Then the IR blaster for your DVD burner is the cable box is checked.
Sears should be installed without any additional cost. If they do, offer to make the equipment and someone not to buy. I think they will get the message.
First, I do not think about the infrared sensor to know, but can help the rest. It depends if you record from your cable box or do not want. Otherwise, you connect an HDMI cable into the connector and cable television input. Then the same with the DVD / VHS, HDMI input and output to TV input. If you want to record from cable box, take the HDMI cable from the cable box and put it on the side of the DVD combo VHS /. Then you take another HDMI cable and insert it into the OUT of the DVD / VHS combo TV. This gives a complete link to the TV. You can return or even the combined DVD / VHS to the TV. This is a configuration similar to how it used to connect the cables to the VCR for recording in combination, only the HDMI cable instead of coaxial cable.
